Awesome idea if it's real but seems like one of those games that'll either end up being epic win or epic fail though I haven't really gotten into a MK game since the 2D days. If it is real, hopefully they'll show off some footage at E3. Batman doing fatalities would rock.

Common Midway, bring back a 2D view or go the same direction of SF4.

Haha, I tend to agree, this could be awesome, or really, really bad. Part of me was ridiculously excited with the possibilities when I heard this news, but another part of me just shuddered with horror at the thought of how bad it could end up.

I reckon it could be cool. I rather enjoyed Mortal Kombat Deception. It was a lot better than most of the other more recent Mortal Kombat games, so there's some hope yet.

i can see why they wouldnt want fatalities for the dc characters, but they could atleast do fatalities for the mk characters.

Wow, I must be the only person that thinks this is the lamest thing ever?

Now that developers have milked the living s*** out of their franchises/brands, rather than coming up with some new ideas they're just going to crossbreed them with other brands and sell us the inbred, retarded offspring. What the f*** good is a Mortal Kombat game without fatalities?

Sounds like they'll still have finishing moves, just not so much of the ripping off people's heads. Partly I guess because DC won't allow them to rip off batman's head, but also because they're shooting for a Teen rating, and your game has to be pretty much blood-free to get a Teen rating in the US. We worked a game recently, and the publishers wanted to get it a Teen rating, and we had these tiny little, barely noticeable blood puffs that came out when you punched someone, and that was too much, they had to be removed for the Teen rating. So yeah, expect a pretty sanitised version of Mortal Kombat :(

f***, can it even really be classed as a Mortal Kombat game without blood? Has that EVER been done before?

I'm pretty sure the SNES version didn't have red blood

I remember that MK2 and MK3 on SNES had red blood. I don't think I ever played the SNES version of the original though.

MK on the SNES didn't have red blood but did have a very minor amount of grey blood from time to time when a character got hit. From memory it was the same case on the megadrive but there was a cheat to completely unlock all the gore but i never owned a megadrive so i could have that wrong, maybe it was turning green blood to red.

Original MK on SNES had no fatalities and only sweat spray from big hits. you could use game genie to turn the sweat spray red though.

Original MK on Megadrive had full gore unlocked by code at title screen [down-up-left-left-a-right-down]
that code is permanently embedded in my brain.

i was the absolute MK champion, and toys'r'us at garden city used to have a megadrive setup with MK that all the local school kids used to meet at. i dominated everyone, and there used to be a long line of contenders to try and beat me. one time i slapped down this big year 12 guy super fast with kano (plus ripped heart out), so he punched me in the arm really hard cos he'd been waiting 30mins to play. i was only 13 and it really hurt :(

yeah but the DULLARD code was the secret menu where you could turn blood on plus change heaps of other stuff.

also, i am convinced MK vs DC is going to be s*** after looking at that link with all the DC characters. what a pack of ultralame c***s
