Im after peoples top ten movies. Im after something to watch tonight that i havn't seen before, so if someone lists the star wars series and the matrix trilogy, they will not only be ignored but deemed a nerd.

Apart from that, what have you seen lately?

Most of these are great, some are just movies I've seen about 20 odd times.

Heat
A Clockwork Orange
Chinatown
The Seven Samurai
Blade Runner
The Departed
The Prestige
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Predator
Full Metal Jacket
Collateral
No Country For Old Men
There Will Be Blood

I have no idea how anyone thinks clockwork orange is top 10, Its weird art house crap. But then again I don't rate Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, No Country For Old Men or The Seven Samurai either. I found them un-entertaining.

Not necessarily my top 10, but close to from what I could come up with off the top of my head.

A Few Good Men
Garden State
Batman Begins
Snatch
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
The Boondock Saints
Seven
Meet Joe Black
The Prestige
American Gangster
The Devils Own

If you're interested in watching a bloody awesome cycling video, try to find a copy of '24 solo'. Basically it's about Chris Eatough-a-plate's attempt at a 7th world title when along comes an Aussie they've never heard of (Craig Gordon) who beats him... putting himself in hospital in the process.

Other recent movies (last 12 months) worth watching:
Hoodwinked
The Great Debaters
1408

Some others worth tracking down and watching, depending on your tastes:
Shooting Fish
Xanadu ....? :)
The Firm

28 Days Later
28 Weeks Later
Donnie Darko
Dawn of the Dead (the remake)
Dog Soldiers
The Descent
Return to Oz (seriously see that movie)
Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon
Sublime
Wilderness
Headspace
Nightwatch
Dead Mary
Sean of the Dead
Zombie Honeymoon
Re-Animator (f***ign funniest horror movie ever, including a scene where a decapitated scientist uses his body to hold his head and go down on a naked chick)

Most of those are independent if not B-Grade movies. All are very worth watching (some for laughs).

I hope you have seen Army of Darkness, if not, get it ASAP.

Hell, most people don't know that a large amount of Duke Nukems catch phrases were taken directly from this movie.

Yes I have seen it;) It is awesome. Re-Animator is awesome in a similar way.

If you like Army of Darkness go back and watch the first two films of the series, Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2. Both are just as hilarious.

Bubba Hotep too for all the Bruce Campbell fans. Bruce Campbell plays the actual Elvis Presley who is stuck in a retirement village. He switched places with a lookalike so he could escape the limelight for a while, but then the lookalike died. The retirement village ends up being haunted by some Egyptian mummy. Hilarity ensues.

Hell, most people don't know that a large amount of Duke Nukems catch phrases were taken directly from this movie.

Considering that the actor who played Ash (Bruce Campbell) in Evil Dead, was the voice over artist for Duke Nukem himself, so no, I'm not surprised :P

This is so not a kids movie. As a kid I wore out my vhs copy then watched it again last year - seriously messed up compared to the first one.

Ta for the contribution obes.

Another bit of an oddball one which I thoroughly enjoyed was The Darjeeling Limited. By Wes Anderson and is similar to The Royal Tenenbaums, but I think I prefer Darjeeling Limited.
