Are there any cinemas in Brisbane that show old classic movies or any clubs or societies that hold regular views of old classic movies?

Yeah, definitely not "arthouse", they specialise in the cult classics.

Yeah The Globe is the main one but, and this is a big but, the guys who run it are (can be) real freaks/nerds. Sorry if any of them are on here, but you are. And even though I haven't been in a while, and i won't be going back there the 'cinema' is pretty rank. It's like from the late 70s/early 80s and feels like it has never been cleaned, especially the chairs.

The Regent in Queen St mall were showing classics once a month last year but I'm pretty sure they've stopped that. The only other thing is Moonlight cinema, but it only operates in summer and is a) semi-expensive, b) gay, because if it rains or the projector dies, they don't give you your money back they make you come back and see a different movie which may be gay and is very hard to get to if you live a long way away. And c) for those with no girlfriend/friends is s*** if you go by yourself cos once I really wanted to see one movie I hadn't seen and none of my mates wanted to and it was pretty s***.

Nissan Moonlight Cinema now closed.

Brisbane City Council has closed sections of New Farm Park, including the Nissan Moonlight Cinema site, due to the danger of diseased trees falling down.

It is with great regret that we therefore have to cancel the final four sessions of the season.

If you have booked tickets for PS. I Love You, 2 Days in Paris, The Darjeeling Limited or Shaun of the Dead, please contact frontdoor@moonprojects.com for further information.

We apologise for the inconvenience, and look forward to seeing you back at Moonlight next season.

Dendy shows some arty films, not old classics though.
