Just got back from seeing this at South Bank. Anyone else catch this yet?

I'll straight up admit that I thought it was rad. Don't go in there expecting a gripping plot or superb dialogue, and you'll be treated to a no-bulls***, over-the-top action flick where Stallone (and a few others) f*** up a whole lot of Burmese arseholes who are up to no good.

If you're up for an action movie, I'd recommend it.

I saw it last night, it was awesome. Completely gratuitous violence, lots of. If you don't like that in your action movies, this is not for you.

yer, i enjoyed it;

after reading all the reviews, was sort of hoping for slightly more action

but the action i got was happy with

sly sort of pulls it off

really, i couldnt see him being able to get away with any other role

good to see new advances in special effects for blowing people up/appart are being made!

I think Saving Private Ryan went for more realistic action and Rambo goes for more straight out carnage which I thought was f***ing awesome. Loved the scene where Rambo shoots the dude with an arrow and then he falls into the rice paddy on to a land mine and his body gets blown back outta the water. And the whole 50 cal scene, my god that was good.

Lets just say if you like gushing cascades of blood you won't be disapointed. I don't think the amount of killing was excesive. However the amount of blood a person can lose from a single slash/stab/bullet hole was being well and truely stretched to the limits of plausibility.

It wasn't a bad view and if you just like a bit of a yippie shoot with some blood and explosions you'll like it well enough.

If you want a rating on the bloody well here.

28 Days later = A ok day at the beach (3-4ft swell)
Rambo = The Boxing day Tsunami

This rating of course is only based on blood flow :)

I think this is a pretty huge exaggeration. It has heaps of blood, yeah, but it's not THAT much more than other recent violent movies. It's more that it shows people losing body-parts and such.

Though yes, there are the odd scenes like when he liquifies the dude in the front of the car with the mounted machine gun.

I think one of the most disturbing shots is where you see that kid get pinned on the ground under some c***'s foot while he stabs him with his bayonet.

Sounds like he's taking on Jack Bauer's kill count.

I saw that kill count. It was actually like 3.something kills per minute (excluding the credits), but that wasn't kills by Rambo, it was just total number of people killed in the movie. Rambo only makes about half the kills (though his are the most rad).

I enjoyed it a lot. Saw it tonight. Best $11 spent for a while. Pure action. Reminded me of just what an action movie should be like without some metro sexual lead toning down the movie.

I give it 2 thumbs up.

5 of us stood and applauded at the end of the movie and I think the other peeps in our screening thought we were all smacked up in the head because of how hard we laughed at the carnage while they sat cringing.

Great fun, great carnage... leave the missus at home.

2 VERY ENTHUSIASTIC thumbs up!

there will be blood is rated g compared to this, good hardcore violence and it looked so real! sensed a bit of corny emo acting/directing by stallone otherwise the violence made up for it.. rocky balboa was a joke, stallone should stop directing his own movies, too late now anyway.

Just saw this.

This movie is 'GOOD' because it gives ppl exactly what they want.

The wankers that I've seen review this movie and give it a low rating are simply retarded or 'ladyboy c***s' lol.

I mean its a 'Rambo' movie it's not Shakespeare and as a blokey action movie it kicks arse.

Also I strongly recommend that you see this at the cinema, seeing it on telly just wouldn't do it justice.

First Blood> Rambo4 > Rambo2 > Rambo3

I thought this was a pretty cool movie. I didn't exactly expect a masterpiece of a film but was worth my money. Pretty brutal visuals at times too with the army invading the small villages.

top movie, big props to the dude on the end of the penis extension of a sniper rifle, that gun was sweet.

annoying thing was i only just finished watching the first season of dexter today, and the chick from that was in rambo. was weird, but she plays the same hopeless distressed bitch.

also, wtf that Michael f***** shoulda died.

Yeah he pegs the baby into like the hut like a rag doll and then flames the whole hut on fire. I couldn't help but laugh at the rag doll look of the kid hahaha.

The movie was pretty bad.

Well the whole movie wasn't bad to be honest but the last 5 minutes was so utterly terrible it ruined the experience. I'm talking about the part where they stared at each other for ages at the end with dramatic music playing. It was a serious wtf moment after all the carnage.

Which Rambo was it where he strapped a grenade to someone, tied a chain around his neck and threw him down a hole = snapped neck + grenade explosion?

Thumbs up to that movie and this new Rambo movie too. Senseless and excessive violence ftw.
