This competition is old news , and is being blamed to a degree for the batting slump most teams are currently in.

More Warney = win.

Pretty sure the reason it was being blamed on Australian batting slumps was because there is a contractual dispute between Cricket Australia and the players that wanted to enter the IPL.

Its to do with potentially missing out on Australian Tour Commitments (i.e tour of Pakistan) to instead go to the IPL which is being run concurrently.

They are skipping the Pakistan tour because of security reasons.

Symonds doesn't want to go to Pakistan even if they get security clearance. On the same day he makes this announcement, someone bids $1.4 mil for him to play 20/20 games at the same time.

He has a habit of saying stupid things at the wrong time.

I reckon this series is going to be awesome, will be cool to see australian players against each other.

Its no different to soccer, with internation teams and city based teams.
