If you like your chances as an eSports competitor in events with the likes of StarCraft, WarCraft or Diablo, the 2008 Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational has just been announced for Paris, France this June. Held over two days (June 28 and 29), the invitational is the fourth of its kind, but the first time it has landed in Europe. Open to all who like their chances with these games (and are over 16 or accompanied by an adult if younger), the Invitational will be presented in an expo-like way with plenty of Blizzard-based action for fans of the gaming giant's much loved franchises. Activities will include:
  • Discussion panels with Blizzard Entertainment developers
  • Artist and developer signings
  • Hands-on play with World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King™ and StarCraft II
  • Merchandise and other products based on the Blizzard Entertainment game universes
  • A silent auction
  • Musical performances
  • And more exciting activities to be announced
Tickets for the event will go on sale in the next few weeks, but according to Blizzard, are limited. They'll set you back about AU$115.00 so if you have a spare plane ticket to Paris around that time, be sure to keep an eye on the official Invitational site for updates and ticket sale dates.

I'll be over that way in may, not June though :(
Would love to get a hands-on at StarCraft II

I wonder how many people they will pull over there if tickets are 'limited' and if they could fill that limited number in an Australian setting.
I would travel to Sydney for something like this, but Paris is a little bit too far...
