I've got a whole bunch of old PCs, printers, CRTs etc...lying around the office (maybe 5 of each). At my old job we used another departments special bin for IT rubbish...so disposal was simple. Now it's my job to figure out how best to dispose of the stuff.
I've looked at lots of different companies website trying to figure out the best option for disposal...but was hoping someone else may have already done the hard work and could share their knoweledge with me?? I don't think any of it is worth selling....most of it would be at least 10 years....except the CRTs...but they're CRTs. Obviously would like to keep cost minimal. TIA. |

That PC Disposals looks OK, might give them a call tomorrow. Only problem is some of the stuff doesn't work....eg. PC without PSU.
Reso...CRTs are mainly 17" and 19" but sorry I'm not interested in giving little bits away to different people....need to get rid of the whole lot. |

Throw it in the bin and it will get landfilled. Landfill is a SAFE place to store electronic equipment.
I cannot imagine a recycling process for electronic equipment that wouldn't be very expensive and wouldn't cause pollution. Probably because one doesn't exist. These recycling services exist for the purpose of making you feel good about purchasing the newer gadget, they cost you tax money, generate a lot of chemical waste (what are you supposed to do with that?) and fumes, consume water, electricity, and still generate a generous amount of landfill in the end. Hey if I'm wrong, please show me, but I just haven't seen any evidence that they actually 'recycle' a majority of the machine, it seems to me they just salvage any components they can sell, then shred it up and toss it! |

Give these guys a call, they do nation wide disposal (and pay you money if the gear is worth something);
