seems cool, except for all that "press the button for 3 seconds" s***. Very complicated for anything other than tuning ?

How does it actually work? Does it go by string tension or the note being played?

sensors on each string detect what frequency the string is vibrating at, and adjusts to the settings you want.

Ive looked at the videos and for standard tuning its realy easy. Takes about 5-10 seconds. Would be awesome for cover gig's, for a quick tuneup between songs. Even changing to non-standard tuning can be done realy quickly. I realy hate when cover bands try to play non-standard tuning songs in standard tuning, like daughter, it just doesnt sound right.

:)

yeah if the implementation is reliable and doesn't adversely affect the tone it's a pretty nifty feature, although I wouldn't choose a guitar just to get that feature myself

Howdy Jimbo,

Been doing a heap of reading on these, not alot of people are very happy with em it seems.
Many cases of the tuner control being flimsy and falling off, which is pretty shoddy :(

I've read about this thing, but that's the first time I've seen it in action. I hate it when I decide that I want to learn a song, and then see that it doesn't use standard turning, because I'm way to lazy to sit there and re-tune the guitar. Having the guitar do it for me would be tits.

Hmmm - no good for bass players (imagine the size of the motors / gearbox).

I can restring, tune + check intonation on my Warwick Thumb 6er in about 30 mins (and a set of DR high beams lasts me around ~3 months, gigging 2~3 times per week).

Looks awesome, didn't realise they did innotation as well. Plus I've always loved the look of the Les Paul guitars.

Certainly is Jim :(

Take a browse on some of the well known gibson boards, everybody seems to hate the bloody things!!!!!

Wankers at gibson need to stop making these silly things and start making LEFTY les pauls again, 3 months I have been trying to find a decent one from the USA with no luck..

My strat and marshall dont get along to well :(

Do they ship them from the US? I thought they didn't due to wanting people to go through their local distributer.

Depends where you go, major distributors wont (zzsounds, musciansfriend) but I've found some smaller places that are happy to.

Other than that, ebay has alot of bargians.
I would have like, 4 les pauls now if I was a righty!

I have seen plenty being sold around aus, was wondering about importing them since last time I checked there were some savings to be had.

Thats a bummer about your strat! Mines fantastic, thought its the 60th anniversary model, maybe a took a little extra care with it?

mine's just some random year'd (2002 or something I think I bought it) american deluxe out of the california factory. sounds ok, but the fretwork is worse than some cheapy brands, and it feels bloody aweful changing to it after the PRS

and yeh the PRS is goin great :) beautiful beautiful guitar, sounds great, feels great, hardly have to tune it

Is that the two speakers amp? I've got the same one I think, can't remember the exact model number. I have it switched down to 50 watts, because srsly 100 tube out of two speakers is so unnecessary. I would think about selling it if it was worth something because it just doesn't get any love now I'm not in a band:(

PS, I want one of those Gibsons, just for the pretty lights. I can see myself owning one in a few years when I'm earning a couple more bucks than I am now.

Mines only got 1 12inch speaker, its basically a 100watt jcm900 head which you can hook up 2 speaker/quadboxes to
100 watt seems to get a better tone for me, and I get a good sound even at bedroom levels :)

JIM: I was lead to believe it came from the factory plek'd, after some reading that may not be the case.. either way, fretboard is fantastic on it, bummer your not happy with yours though
