I've just installed TF2, really looking to play with the QGL team.

I got all the time in the world and play games a fair bit (3 - 4 hours a day).

I was a cainer at competitive/ladder TFC, so hopefully it's similar :)

Tis one of the best presented games. Excellent animations, voices, gameplay, graphics. I would put it up in the GOTY list.

I'm just overwhelmed with the classes and gameplay... have no idea who to choose.

I guess I'll give all of them a crack and settle down on 1 or 2 to train on.

Runs very smooth @ 1024res - high detail... very happy with that $140 8600GT

They all have their good points Chub. Just know that no matter what class you choose, at some point you'll have strex shoving some cold steel in the middle of your shoulder blades :)

Spy is mega fun :D Bit hard to play at first, but after a few hours I'm backstabbing 3 people in a row, very satisfying :D

Game is very pretty :)

I usualy play on the internode servers as I get like a 15 - 40 ping. 99.5% of the time i'm a spy. gotten quite good at it all things considered. I love my name too, Epic Fail Guy because its so true, I suck at multiplayer fps.

there was a few good tutorials videos for the classes someone posted in another thread a while ago. worth a look for someone new i reckon (even if youre a qwtf/tfc vet)

I think I've seen you about DM!

I play as Fade usually, or sometimes brett. 99% of the time I'm spamming my rockets as a soldier.

Strecker add me to steam friends! Fade2Blak1 (note no c some bastard took my nick first!)

If your going to be a spy, remember to spend some time sapping sentry guns. Also a good idea is to get yourself to the enemy spawn and sap the teleport entrances. It forces the engineer to leave their post to fix it, giving time for the team to bust any sentries the engy is constantly repairing.

Also try giving medic a go. It is a great way to learn how to use the other classes, you watch what they are doing while healing everyone. Also a good medic can top score easily by healing the other top scoring players often.

I've got a 11200 healed score. Dunno how that compares to other people though, could be crap.

Only thing I dont like as a spy is if the enemy team is really paranoid. They will shoot their teammates 1 or 2 times point blank to make sure they aren't a spy, which of course you get annihilated by

Yar, you just have to suck it up and not react like you got shot. I find it a pain about those cluey buggers that notice you slightly avoiding a path that would have you run into them.

Is there anyway to mute people in TF2?

God there's some f***ing idiots... someone kept spamming a "need a dispenser" for like 60 minutes straight.

Medic is pretty good, followed some [cC] guy around for a map and got 65 assists.

I dont think there is a way to mute people using the in-game command menu short of turning your sound off. If they are using a mic there is, although i cant exactly remember it

Yep, you can mute, just cant describe how from here. Tab screen, or esc to get to the option I think.

should be the same as CS, i think if you press ESC or TAB maybe even there should be a way to do it. i know it can be done

Yeah I do it through Esc. I didn't know you could do it from the scoreboard.
So the team name has obviously changed from QGL to Queenslanders!....so has the tag changed or are we still using [QGL]?

Yep still using [QGL]

Just changed it to Queenslanders because it looked really dorky and serious on the ladder to have the full Queensland Gamers League.

Pyro is sooooo much fun :D:D:D

Waiting around a corner, then jumping out and setting 5 people on fire is hilarious... for some reason people don't seem to react quickly, they just stress out and all scramble in opposite directions.

Definetely good fun :)

PS. Am I still able to join this league for a game? PM if it's possible Strex, thank in advance.

maybe you guys should create your own clan!? You alomost have enough people by the looks.

Yeah atm the ladder team is at a pretty ideal size. Anymore and people are going to have to regularly sit out games and that's not fun.

Plus we've worked out who plays what the best and we are finally getting some solid strats down. A whole bunch of new players is really gonna hurt that especially now we are up high again and are going to get some very tough challenges.

All you need is 8 people (ideally a few more cause people go away etc), there is most likely enough who are interested here to form a 2nd team.

Plus if we have 2 teams we can scrim against each other and that is very good for learning.

Well I just played an ozfortress pug, and all I can say is that organized games aren't much different to pub ones.

Actual ladder matches are hugely different if you are playing against a clan that takes its seriously and practices a lot.

Organisation and solid tactics will absolutely rape an unprepared team.

raaar 28 points in one life. I think that's not too bad but i'm not going to go statwhore trolling around on the steam site. I'd be in for a second clan.

Bastard. 1 more than my best :p
Most points: 27 (as Demoman)
Most kills: 22 (as Demoman)
Most damage: 5,148 (as Demoman)
Which is all good for me because my typical life span is like about 2 minutes.
Got my Sentry to 9 kills twice today :(
