If you're sick of crappy Achievements in games (I'm looking at you, Electronic Arts), Team Ninja are giving gamers a chance to create their own Achievements for the forthcoming Ninja Gaiden 2. All you need to do is hit up this link and post your idea as a comment. The lads over at Team Ninja will then take your Achievement idea into consideration and it could end up in the game.

The deadline for ideas is January 24th, so if you think you're pretty good at coming up with Achievement ideas, jump on the wagon as soon as you can.

Nifty!

I'd love to see more games on other platforms adopt the whole Achievement thing - Was fun having them added into the PC version of HL2: ep2, portal & TF2 as it seems to add a bit more replay value to a title.. At least I know I found myself going back in ep2 & portal to get the various achievements on offer.

Some of the achievements are great on the 360 games. Some of the devs have really put a lot of thought into them and it actually helps you in some cases really appreciate the effort they went to in level design, etc.

i personally think they are a boring idea. rarely do you ever play in a way so as to achieve them, and when you do achieve it, you're like WTF did i just do. (well it was like that in cod4 for me.)

i prefer to just pwn the server.

Is still giving me nightmares. Not as bad as being 13 grubs short though.

pwned

I'm lost to come up with new ideas now... just remake awesome old games who's creators went bankrupt a million years ago eh

I'd like to play co-op Microsoft's old Fury3 with today's hardware specs in co-op, or that descent rippoff that Gateway used to run the demo of in their shop windows back when the voodoo 2 sli's came along.

making it look better adds to the immersion... hopefully that idiot geek in the back room of the dev dept won't jump up and down hoping to add punkbuster (a proggy that f***s gaming more than cheaters do) just to make "everything sweet".

btw - mad props to C0debasher for his ongoing work modding oldskool games to suit todays pc technology. Hope ya don't get sued old boy ;)

Forsaken, that was one sexy game at the time. Lots of pretty lights.

The only games I've ever tried to complete the achievements in are Doom and Wolfenstein. I've never thought it was a big deal in anything else I've played. I'd rather less small individual achievements and more big milestones that come out through the story, I think.

man, ill never forget my flat mate playing goldeneye on the n64 doing the achievements in that;

in particular the rediculously impossible speed run of the labs (which he eventually did, i never would have believed it)

he spend WEEKS on just that one level;

funniest bit was our neighbour popping around to ask him to stop swearing, as he was upsetting next doors kids (two young girls)
