3D Realms main man George Broussard has dropped word that a trailer for the elusive Duke Nukem Forever will be released tomorrow, no joke.
Last Saturday we had our annual company Christmas party. It was a lot of fun as usual but it featured one special surprise," explained Broussard. "It turns out that several people had been secretly working late nights and into the wee hours of the morning preparing a special video for those at the party. They created a short teaser for Duke Nukem Forever. After seeing the teaser we thought it was something we should share with all of you and while it's just a teaser, rest assured more is coming.
Accompanying this massive announcement was a single in-engine screenshot. We've left the old shots in our gallery there for a bit of a laugh. Previous trailers can be found here in the AusGamers archive.

Although referred to as a teaser, the trailer will supposedly run a minute long and contain some actual in-game footage. We'll of course have an AusGamers download mirror up as soon as possible.

New Duke looks alot like Bruce Willis.

Also, those old videos look like ass. Like it should be on a PS1 or 2.

IIRC, the first video was done on a modified Quake 2 engine, and the second on a modified Unreal engine. They were kicking it OLD SCHOOL back then.

Was there any other way for them to kick it? It wasn't old school back then.

First time I ever played Duke3d mulitplayer was via a serial cable much like I did with Doom. The upgrade to BNC was awsome. Ahh the memories. If DNF ever makes it out, I really hope the level editor is as leet as Duke3d's. Easiest FPS level editor I've ever used.

OP was too brief or I would have promoted, soz.

S'all good homie, to be honest I didn't make that much effort because I didn't think people would be that interested. Most other forums, anything DNF related gets bitched about.

:( I loved the artwork in quake, the dank dreariness, the festy mouldiness, through to the cleaner castley structures and all topped off with really well-matched sound effects and sound track

I don't think that model of duke looks as good as the models in Crysis. Gameplay better be something special.

if that screenshot was supposed to hype me up for DNF then it failed horribly. what a crappy looking pic to release. if your going to work on a game for 10 years or something insane, then at least have some drool worthy promo pics every now and then. not something that looks like its 6 years old

gee people expect to much these days, also do your research, they havent just been working on dnf for 10 years, they have done a whole heap of other s***, including max payne and prey.

research nothin it's the fact they hyped up DNF all those years ago and then kept pushing back the release date. They should have just finished it instead of starting all that "other s***" or if they couldn't finish DNF then they shouldn't have hyped it up.

Producing external games would not keep their whole team busy though.

How many people still work at 3DR anyway? I would love to be a fly on the wall there. Imagine all the s*** that would have hit the fan over the last 10 years.

Remedy made Max Payne, Human Head made Prey. 3drealms might have been involved, sure, but probably just in a cursory way, explaining the engine or helping out with engine related problems maybe. Same way that Raven made Quake 4 but its billed as an id software game, and how RTCW was made by Gray Matter and Nerve but id software took most of the credit.

i thought the language broussard used was amusing... acting like its a massive accomplishment for some of the team to have put together a freakin trailer. wow way to go.. i bet they hand out employee of the month over there for half-finishing a texture..

i wasnt too impressed by the in game stuff. i reckon it looks just like a doom3 or quake4 expansion or mod, with different models (seeing the old pig dudes was good though)
