And Mongie, based on your extensive experience, why would you recommend the Brother over other MFCs in a similar price bracket?

Basically, brother are in a league of their own due to the seperate drum system they use.
Umart have them for $369. They print, scan, copy and fax. They are cheap on consumables and they work well. |

why would you recommend the Brother over other MFCs in a similar price bracket? cos he gets kickbacks from the manufacturer - duh. All experts have these arrangements. |

HP are the worst thing ever. if you don't think so one call to their "support center" should change your mind!

Um...
Just for the record, I work for an accounting company now, and we use Xerox printers. I have done so since March. I honestly don't care what brand you buy, I can only suggest Brother as they are the brand I would buy and the brand that I found to be the best in the four years I sold printers. <3 Mongie. |

heh, funny I've been looking for a MFC device for the last week for home cause mrs term has just set up her own company
What I've concluded so far: Bubble jet and any device that has bubble jet printing is the devil and will just cause headaches - avoid at all cost. HP cant make drivers for s***, you'll have nothing but problems with it. Brother I've never had much exposure too so cant comment All up I've talked myself into a Samsung multi function colour laser printer, which is more than your looking to pay but I think will kick ass. We've had two of the black and white versions of this printer in our office for the last 5 years and neither have missed a beat, worth mentioning that they dont get heavy use... But the drivers dont melt your pc and do get updated, are unobtrusive when not in use etc and the quality of the products themselves has been sound. Heres a link http://www.i-tech.com.au/products/14172_Samsung_CLX_3160FN_Network_Colour.aspx |
