From memory, they produced it. Hanks directed one episode. So if it's like that they wouldn't be around too much.

apparently filming is being done in port douglas, plus some brisbane and melbourne locations.

a mate was in a ww2 flick filmed on the goldcoast, mostly in the hinterland. (sadly starring bejamin bratt)

long days but not hard work and quite often very fun.

worth it if youre a bum and need a quick pocket money boost

I was an extra in Mission Impossible 2, did it for 2 and a bit nights for the Fire Festival scene in the movie. It was heaps of fun and got to meet other people who have done commercials and all sorts of things. Even got to talk to Tom Cruise who seemed like a real nice guy (at the time). I got paid alot more then $600 and they also paid for food which was excellent and they had lots of it too :O

They couldn't film it in Inala or Ipswich - those places are too violent for a WW2 show.

They asked if they could film it on the Northside, but the only weapons they could get a hold of there was trolley bars!?F

I made myself laugh.

The Pacific follows the accounts of two US sailors during the pacific campaign. Because they were stationed in Melbourne for the war, a lot of the scenes can be assumed to be cityscape / urban scenes that could be filmed in Melbourne for authenticity, or Brisbane, for its convenient location (seeing they're filming up north qld & NT)

McD's car park at Wynnum was booked out for the final battle scene too.
