(stolen from machine head forums)
Check out this video. It's small but of good quality and more impressive than the pictures I think: http://www.fark.ru/media/video/humor/i1762 Here's an article on the topic: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/asia/article1517044.ece This is awesome news..I just hope they aren't killed out now due to public being told about them and the poachers knowing where they are.. http://image-cache.boostcruising.com/forums/uploads/post-2128-1174087178310511911.jpg http://image-cache.boostcruising.com/forums/uploads/post-2128-1174087188756638928.jpg |

its really not that amazing, its just a reclassification of them, they already new they existed but they thought they were genetically indistinct from the other leopards |

It was on news.com.au 2 or 3 days ago.
And while it sounds big and exciting. Isn't it just a case of a cat on Borneo that they thought was the same as the mainland species is really a different one after genetic testing? The big cats prowling the jungles of Borneo and Sumatra had long been assumed to be the same clouded leopards that are found in mainland Asia. In otherwords they didn't find anything new, just reidentified something old. |

it's all happening at borneo :P last year was a 'banner' year for new species discoveries there... including this leopard, but it gets all the press coz its cute n cuddly lookin' :P kinda makes it a pity that its controlled by the indo govt & they will no doubt soon develop it as a tourist attraction & the wildlife will mostly go extinct.
Scientists have discovered at least 52 new species of animals and plants this past year on the island of Borneo. The discoveries, described in a new WWF report, include 30 unique fish species, two tree frog species, 16 ginger species, three tree species and one large-leafed plant species. link |

Scientists eh...what a life.
Racing through the jungles of Borneo, chasing local pussy. When all of a sudden, BANG....hang on, that pussy is a little different from the local pussy around here. Let's test it....and BANG again....it is, it is different pussy. Somehow....millions of years ago, some mainland strain of pussy slips across some ancient land bridge and sneaks into the local pussy population. For millions of years, people of Borneo and Sumatra are so indifferent to what sort of pussy is in their area, as long as some exists.....Now that scientists have lobbed into the area and the secret is out...the idea is to get some exotic nature shots of this newly discovered pussy, and plaster it all over the Internet. ^_^ FB |

These pussies were never lost, you just have to know where to find them.
http://www.ozybiz.com/pics/dale/p3.gif Of course, the mystery deepened when this pussy was spotted hanging around Paris pussy as well. http://www.ozybiz.com/pics/dale/p2.gif But Wait...there's more.....is that Brittany Pussy caught sneaking her hand into Paris Pussies seafood basket..... http://www.ozybiz.com/pics/dale/p1.gif last edited by FurryBear at 10:35:27 18/Mar/07 |
