Anyone know of any good third party maps that are worth a look (preferably bigger than 6v6)? CoH is such an awesome game but there's so few maps. I'm assuming that they won't be releasing any more official ones except as expansions :(

There are heaps of maps on www.planetcompanyofheroes.com (not to mention one of my awesome replays).

The only thing that sucks is th ere is no autodownload feature so all clients have to have the custom map installed to play.

I think custom maps would take off in a big way if some sort of autodownload could be facilitated.

I went to get some the other day for some 1v1 action but I couldnt figure out how to f***en get them working. its more technical then simply extracting to maps folder.
I tried creating the folders but it didnt come up in the ingame list, anyone know what the go is?

That sucked about dawn of war as well. In generals and many other RTS it auto downloaded the map off the host - easy++

I only got one mate to play against and he doesnt have teh micro which sucks, and the computers are no fun to play against.
If anyone wants a battle at this or dawn of war: dark crusade meet at the reply box for cogs or hamachi.

are any of the custom maps decent though? i checked out a few and they seemed sort of lame compared to the officials

We played some custom maps at work and had to put -dev 1 or something in the shortcut to get the maps to show up

The custom map we played was some contest winner apparantly, but it kinda blew. So good luck finding anything worthwhile.

I just took a look at about 5 maps and they were all f***ing s***house when put next to retail maps.

that's pretty much what I found as well :(

All I want is some maps similar to the retail maps cause I swear we have played semois atleast 2 billion times.
And for some reason victory points wouldnt show up on custom maps, and f*** annilation - you'd have to be playing a retarded monkey to win annilation.

I just play Hamachi games with a few of my mates coop against the AI usually 3 v 3.

I actually find that more enjoyable than playing PvP, especially on Hard or Extreme. You have to setup some damn solid defence to keep Extreme at bay.

heh I read that and thought "hey, I think I'll have a go" and just did a quick game against the AI. The AI doesn't seem to like maps with bridges

no against humans silly. AI and their gay bike/jeep rushes. that's no fun at all.
