I've been thinking about getting a Wii and decided to grab one, but i'm wondering if anyone knows the cheapest prices (gotta be decently close to me (kenmore)). I was thinking about doing a trade in for my XBOX + some games to try get some store credit, anyone know if EB / other stores still do all that?

I was thinking Kmart / BigW got the best prices because of the mass sales but any help would be cool

EDIT: also games! what games are good? was looking at zelda and also the tennis one... any favs / reviews?

Zelda is awesome, can't put it down :) you get Wii Sports with it, so that includes Tennis, Baseball, Golf, Boxing and Bowling.

Cheapest that I know of was target for $388.. as long as there is ready stock available other shops should match that price.

Haven't played any of the other games, apart from Wii Play which is more a tutorial for the Wii Remote. I'm keen to hear what people think of the other games out there atm.

Wii Sports is awesome, tennis would be my personal favorite out of the package.

I've got a brand new one here. $389 which is the price I paid for it. So thats the price I'm selling it at.

I have a few games. NFS:Carbon, Zelda, COD3, Monster Trucks. All pretty good. COD3 is the hardest though and takes a long time to get used to, but once you do that, it rocks.

Don't trade in a console. Particularly an xbox.. if you don't play games on it any more why wouldn't you just mod it and install XBMC? Then you could sell the games on ebay if you had to get rid of them.

I'm considering buying one as well. How much is an extra controller, and are the games the usual ~$99 each?

My family Xmas was at my sisters place and she got my nephew a Wii - 5 minutes after arriving I'd managed to push him off it and continued to play for most of the day. Tennis & Baseball rock - so I'm 90% of the way to convincing myself to go buy one today if they can be found.

Anyone used the Wii Virtual Console yet? Where do the downloaded games get stored, etc?

JB Hifi sell games for $80, and the Wiimote is around $70, the Nunchuck attachment is $30, and the Classic Controller is $30, but atm the Classic Controller is only really used for VC games...

I bought one thinking i could use it for NFS, how disapointed I was =(

Each game you download comes up as it's own channel on the main wii menu. They get stored in the internal memory, but you can copy them off that and onto SD cards if you need to.

Well searched from 1pm until 6pm and as fate would have it - I decided to stop in at Kmart at Redcliffe at about 5.55pm. Chick at the counter tells me they found one out the back and its their last!

All that after searching Chermside (Big W, JB, Kmart, Myer, Target), Toys R Us, Strathpine (Myer, Big W), Toyworld and WoW.

Awesome++ :)

f***s up with the wireless thing? Everytime I enter either my wep pass phrase or wep key (long ass character string) it says the information I entered is invalid.. tried about 10 times now :(

Anyone else have any problems?

Yep I'm old school Jim! The saga of using WEO is a long one. Because there's no DSL ports on my RIMjob I have hooked up a wireless network to my sisters place down the road (~500m). The WRT54G firmware I'm using (dd-wrt) doesn't work well with WPA so I have to use WEP - the Linksys is my access point even though it's mounted on an aerial on my roof.

Finally got it going after another 1295129 attempts at entering the key. I can now casually browse the globe looking at the weather.

Donkey Kong Country was nice too.

I don't think we will be getting Chrono Trigger though. Was mario rpg released here originally?

I'm waiting for them to bring on the Streets of Rage. Even overpriced, I'd buy that.

Despite some Snes games being worth the ~$10, I'd only buy N64 games cause playing a joystick game on a keyboard ;) sucks.
