A new version of Ubuntu lands today, taking this popular Linux distro up to version 6.10 (this is the 'Edgy Eft' thing, if you want to use their confusing weird nomenclature for versioning). Check the release notes for more information about the new features (quick list: new splash screen, Firefox v2.0, new Gnome).

Also, I forgot to post about the new Fedora which was released early this week, taking it up to Fedora Core 6.

cool to see ubuntus release is ontime this time around. might apt-get dist-upgrade my kubuntu when i get uncaped next month.

I've been running the development versions of Edgy for a while and it has been awesome so far :) Beryl is amazing once you get it working and the system is polished and stable overall. Well done Ubuntu!
