hi power users
i use dual monitors at work on my work machine, and would like to continue using ultramon however, i dont want to pay for it and as its a work machine, i have to keep it legal is there any free software that will let me have taskbar on both monitors, preferable with quick start on either? |

Work doesn't want to shell out US$40? If they don't you can always claim it back in your tax return.
I have no idea if there's a freebie Ultramon available either.. |

I found this: http://www.mediachance.com/free/multimon.htm
It can definitely be used as a free alternative to Ultramon. The only downside is that it shows tasks in the bar that even if they are already forced in the tray (Winamp for example), but nothing show-stopping. last edited by parabol at 14:26:32 25/Sep/06 |

is there any free software that will let me have taskbar on both monitors, preferable with quick start on either? ja, just use nvidia drives, and set to span. as you can see on my THREE monitors http://img2041.photobox.co.uk/664232899d781a9484c587a0ad2da7e3f28f1559786e8d684148b7855b4220e3e658dd11.jpg last edited by mooby at 18:49:59 25/Sep/06 last edited by mooby at 18:52:58 25/Sep/06 |

ja, just use nvidia drives, and set to span 'Span' defeats the purpose if you're specifically planning to have different windows maximised on each screen, as most people do. For example, a document open on one screen that you are reading while coding on another screen. Infact, I just spanned Firefox across two monitors and it looks dongs. last edited by parabol at 22:42:32 25/Sep/06 |

p.s. lefties suck im right handed, ive just decided to use my left hand for my mouse at work. im getting quite fast now. also, parabol it works both ways. sometimes you want the app to span accross both montiors, like i do. |
