G'day guys, and all 4 girls,
I've been out of computing for a bit now, probably anyone who has noticed my total lack of appearing on the Sold! forum would be able to confirm that, but I'm after a new video card. Basically, it looks like my motherboard has given up the go and I don't think it worth trying to track down another board that will take a 3200+ straight off and still have AGP. So it looks like I'm joining the not new age of PCIe. I don't do much in the way of gaming, but I would like to be able to do it respectfully should the need arise. My old card I bought second hand for about $200 about, hmm, reckon maybe 11 months now Suhaib? That was an albatron 6600GT, and that seemed to be pretty much sufficient, so that's kind of a guide. A lose $200 as a limit, if there was something slightly over that that is a world of difference I'd consider it... Sorry to exploit you guys, but I just tried taking a bit of a look today, and the model numbers don't even make sense to me anymore. I just don't recognise them.. and who the f*** is Palit? |

7600GS is a good buy around that money. If you can stretch another ~$75, the 7600GT is a lot better though.
Palit Daytona is a fairly well-known budget brand. I wouldn't have a problem with getting one. |
