Well i have been having this problem for a while now and cant seem to find any solutions, basiaclly i cant seem to watch anyway thig thats streaming in IE or FireFox if the stream is wmp format..other formats work cause they default to using meadia player clasic plugin.
is there anyway to make it so the I.E and Friefox use Meadia player classi? i have had this problem since before i upgraded to meadia player 11, i thought if i upgraded it would fix it but thats not the case..i have the latest version of FireFox and am using IE 7 beta 2 also... anyone got any sugestions? |

Not sure if this will help you with streaming stuff (as I just don't bother with streaming vid) though I did have some success in getting IE only media pages working in Firefox after doing this
Firefox/Tools/Options/ Select Tab "options" Click button "view and edit actions" (should be at the bottom) Locate and select the .wmv/mpg/avi extension that's giving you a hard time and then delete or add (you may need to experiment) Other than that Have you tried to uninstall Media Player Classic (both Quicktime & Real Player) and then reinstall and ensure that you click the check box for "clear existing settings" Seeing as you've installed IE beta an it's ugly sibling media player, all bets are off. Media Player kept trying to reassert itself for a while however I got around this by removing / munting the system priviledges of mplayer.exe |

OH GOD
There is no way to uninstall Media Player 11 Do yourself a favor and don't install it even out of curiosity. EDIT: Phew! don't worry, I got rid of it last edited by Lynx at 23:38:33 27/May/06 |

stop using wmp classic, there is no need to use it... anymore. 10 does a great job of streaming/playing anything. You need to let go ffs. You just create more problems when you do these things to your self!!! GOSH!
hermi: 11 came out like 2 days ago, beta so no one really cares.... yet. |
