I need a program that can level audio, ie.. when you rip a cd and add the album to a playlist, the sound will be not high or low as the tracks change,
I have to find a levelling program that will analyse MPG, AVI files (music clips) that are in a playlist so that when the clips change the audio wont jump from high to low depending on which clip it is.. For eg, got a big collection of beatles video clips - some are high vol some are low and when its being played at a cafe constant volume changing on the main control is needed to keep it right. can any1 help? |

foobar can do it after you rip it.
by either tag or permantly to the mp3 (the latter is what u are after if i read right) right click in playlist --> Replaygain --> Apply track replaygain to mp3 data. So if you rip a cd - put the mp3's into foobar, then replaygain them all as mentioned above. It will make the sound volume equal across them all - And should then be permanent so you can burn to a cd and listen to in your car or whatever with normalised volumes. I assume this is what you what? last edited by Loki at 02:53:31 21/May/06 |

I think Cdex or EAC can do it. Iknow the good old AudioGrabber could do it.

iTunes has that feature for mp3 playback.
I don't know much about iTunes, but can that play video as well? |

i have mp3 gain, that doesent do the video files (mpg, avi) which i said.. ill explain again..
I have a playlist of music videos which are all at different audio levels and it is annoying to keep turning the vol up or down after each clip to get it at the right volume (this is being played at a cafe on big screens) .. is there some sorta app or plug in for windows media player that can normalise a playlist or something... understand? |

What you could do is extract the wav file from the video and normalise it and rip it back to the video with the resources found at doom9.org but that might take a while.
