Performed by ninDeals (ninTek in Perth) so not technically a Bulk Buy (tm). Eiter way, the normal price is $189, down to $149 if the EOI reaches 100 people in the poll. I've been scouting these cards out for a few weeks now and I believe parabol even said people have been raving about them.

They're a great card; they turn 2-channel stereo into 7.1 DDL or DTS Connect. They have inbuilt optical and coax outputs. The only downsides to the cards are that they use a minimal amount of extra CPU when upmixing (compared to Creative X-Fi) and they don't support the higher EAX versions (3+). However if those negative aspects don't worry you in comparison to a much healthier sound from your surround setup, I suggest you get in on the act.

$149!

edit: Offer started yesterday (Tuesday) and ends Thursday 1st June. The poll is up to 34/100 already and if successful, the cards are expected to be in your hands before 15th June.

Well, the deal is going ahead and once 18 more people confirm payment for the cards, then it reaches the morning of June 9th, the cards should soon be on their way.

dont they also decode the signal to analogue and then re-encode it back to digital?

I'd list this as a negative.

id consider it just for the better sound quality of my current on board but i bet you $50 that it dosent convert sterreo to true 7.1 digital.
