Okay, I just upgraded to a 7800GS (AGP) after a long successful run with my R9700pro, and I'm having a few issues with powerstrip and monitor timings.
I just got the new powerstrip but its disabled the "locking" mechanism on each of the resolutions. If u'v never used it b4, you can basically force a different refresh rate for each resolution so there's hassle free game res changing and it not defaulting to ugly 60hz. Does anyone know how to enable this? Or are there any other programs that can do this? so that i can set up each resolution once then it forces the rrates when they change in things like games. And just one other gripe. I've noticed that I can now see Windows "wiping" the screen the quickly when big areas are being painted, like when you close a big window, I can see it painting the screen for a split second. With my radeon, it was instant. You couldnt see any "painting" of areas etc. Any help with my nVidia newbiness would be greatly appreciated! |

change the powerstrip thing from windows controlled to standard discrete timing method. works for me
edit: that painting thing sounds like vsync. I never noticed it in windows, I saw it in games occasionally though but it didn't bother me too much. (gf4 4200) last edited by whoop at 21:42:47 06/Apr/06 |
