My 2 year contract ran out with telstra today and I'm dying to change to something faster and with a higher cap

I'm paying $59.95 now with telstra for 256/64 unlimited shaped to 64k after 10Gb so anything better than that is good, preferably with a higher cap, but no more expensive

this is for the holland park area, and I'm gonna have to move sometime this year so it's going to need to be with a company that has pretty wide coverage around brissy

Oh and this is ADSL, not cable

anyone got any recommendations?

We're with iiNet at work, they've been brilliant. Don't know about price if you don't bundle with their phone service though.

Internode for the win. Went over to them from Telstra ages ago and extremely happy with them.

Cyberone. Join the 1500/256 NoContractNoSetup plan for a month for $110 and then switch to their plan (99/month for 6 month contract, 89/month for 12 month contract and 85/month for 24 month contract).
The ISP is true unlimited, and the wow pings arn't bad. CS:S also sits on around 32ping for me.

Get the Nosetup deal via whirlpool. There's a coupon code on the site.

edit: My bad Wetwired. Its still a damn good deal though if you're after unlim :)

1. iiNet for the best bang for the buck, and potential for 12Mbps 24Mbps. s***ty game server support.

2. Internode for a balance between bang for the buck and good service, and potential for 24Mbps. Excellent game server support.

3. Westnet for excellent service, at the expense of higher cost.

Personally I'm with iiNet and averagely content with them. You have to twist their arm to fix any problems with your line, as they never call you back regarding a fault. I might go with Internode if they drop their prices a bit or increase quota levels.

Only 12Mbit? Someone's stuck in the past, all their DSLAMs are at 24Mbit now, have been for a few months :D

definatley internode, i went from telstra to them - and they are ALWAYS competitive! if a rival comes out with a better plan, they will outdo it ASAP,

also their MD and alot of their staff are always on the whirlpool.net.au forums, they are awesome forums!

i vote to checkout whirlpool.net.au and use the broadband choice jigga cheers

You have to really look at iinet tho locking you home phone with them so fast churn will be difficult some areas are really congested but to iinets credit they genrally add more bandwidth when needed, price wise id go with internode more qouta for less money and no locking your land line with them.

btw iinet network is great low latencys here all the time, fast speed, lucky still on the old blink 12/12 gig plan. 8-)

www.in.com.au is who I am with, fantastic speeds and great service.
Iv been with them for a little while, I went to them after a friend did, got the gf with them now as well.

$59.95 a month for 512k/s unlimit....completly unlimited,no shaping, no cap, no throttling, but real unlimit :P

Eds - their 1.5 plan gets capped at 50gb, seems dumb really when you can theoretically do MORE then that on the 512 plan...

but $60 for unlimited 512 is good s***

UQ Connect seem to have unshaped 1.5Mbps for $90.

They're under the "Student section", but I don't see any reference to having to be a student to sign up. I know I never showed any evidence when I signed up with their dial-up plans.

That's no comfort Eds ...

I pulled mega-gigage on Bigpond cable back in the day and then they started enforcing the 3 gig cap.

I'm leaning towards internode at the moment, iinet doesn't seem all that cheap unless you bundle it with the phone package which I don't want to do

that in.com sounds ok, but you have to be locked in for 6 months, and I'm always a bit iffy about companies I've never heard of

I hear UQ Connect is terrible if you want to do anything other than leech.

Internode FTW!
They have awesome game servers and file mirrors all over the place. Meaning free content for Steam, BF2, etc. Plus updates for WoW and other games can be downloaded free.

Plus they are always upgrading their plans for cheaper here or more downloads there. I can't recommend them enough.
