Do you have a 2nd pc handy? Just a thought, locate the fonts on the 2nd pc, copy them to disk or network them (if its working) and drop it where your old fonts should be.

copied, installed and it fixed all the fonts up after i manually changed them in properties
Then i restarted to see if it worked and sure enough it didnt.. Went back and deleted all my fonts and is all wierd symbols again :@ so not happy at the moment.

Should i do a full scan of the computer and see if that picks it up ? or what should i do?

A scan wont hurt, try that before the dreaded "Format"

The quickest way to fix this sort of problem is a format.
Unhiding all your windows folders, checking your task manager for dodgy running programs, deleting them from windows files and shutting them down in task manager then deleting them again from safe mode takes f***ing ages and isn't garaunteed to fix the problem up 100%.

But if you love to mess around with your pc for ages going back and forward deleting re-installers your welcome to I guess.

That really depends, most trojans and such like to sit in your windows folders.
I don't think it should be transfered with other files but it's a possibility depending on what it attached itself to.
All you can do is try and if it resurfaces after the format then you might want to look at scanning the files transfered pretty heavily or limit your transfer entirely.

Out of curiosity is that a legit copy of Vista or just a theme? If it is actually Vista perhaps Micro$oft have some way of telling its not legit and have ripped it a new one to piss off all the warez monkeys. I really have NFI but I wouldn't put it past em :)

Yeah to the public I guess however one of my friends is an offical Microsoft beta tester (free OSes every new release ftw) and has a legit copy of Vista which I have seen running on his notebook. So I do know for a fact there are legit copies out there.

its in beta. and open for testing.
ive been playing around with it for the last 6 months or more but its nothing to be excited about honestly.

the new graphics may look good but can already be done with new shells or even themes and of course OSX has it down pat.
otherwise its basicly xp with a few minor iddy biddy things here and there. plus of course the security upgrades.
