It's 8 years old, and wasn't even good for its time. The overratedness of this game could fill volumes.

i dont think cs master understands the influence this game had on future fps. this game was about 15 times more innovative than cs. respect

It's great, especially for an alpha release

What Tuco said. Ge was awesome fun in it's day and a quality game indeed.

CS = . CT's vs T's on a variety of maps with standard weapons, theres a ground breaking idea.

Clusterf*** deathmatch on ugly, poorly designed (facility aside) maps with weapons and characters ripped directly from the bond universe, all at a framerate that rarely sees itself in the double digits and controlled by your friend's s***ty plastic-dust clogged N64 analogue sticks that they never took care of; ground-breaking stuff.

The only saving grace of this game was the fact you could play it with 3 of your mates at the same TV and punch each other in the arm for remote-mining a spawn location, but that was more the platform than the game itself. I always hear Perfect dark hailed as the all-improved spiritual successor, but it was just the same game without half the charm and half the framerate.

Did you guys sucking GE dick play PC FPSs before it?

GE was alright for a console FPS if you could get used to having to use a controller instead of KB+Mouse but it pailed in to insignificance compared to the frantic play of multiplayer Doom or even Duke 3D.

hence CS had plenty of potential players to recruit

I think you guys are giving GE a little too much of a hard time. For one thing, the game was a multiplayer innovation. The N64 was THE most powerful console out for a while (until the DC) and I can say that Facility+Licence to kill took at least 100 hours of my life.

So Far I can see a fair bit of promise for this mod. Apart from the fact that there's no crosshair (which sucks), the levels and character look nice and detailed. Needs jump though.

There was no crosshair in the original, there was no jump in the original. The only way you had a crosshair is if you stopped and took aim.

I had no trouble using a controller so i don't associate with you there..

This was awesome when it came out, but with all the new fancy games out it lost it's magic a bit. Will be good to see it done up a bit for source

Guess you had the wrong friends then Hashy. None of those bad things actually happened for alot of GE players. Also Counter Cheat (before source and all the new flash bang s***) has the same visuals as GE had. It ran on just about anything, hence being so *cough* popular.
