Need to get away for a night, I want to be like in the middle of the jungle or close to it. About an hour from brisbane should be fine.
pitch a tent, start a camp fire, quiet area not many other campers, oh and maybe if there was like a bushwalk or just something to do there like a lake or some crap would be good... |

1hr? lol
I would expect at least 2-3hr minimum drive for the effect you are describing for this time of year. pretty sure there is a fire ban atm also. also expect wtf heat for the next week or so. |

Just south of Byron:
http://www.tropicalnsw.com.au/byronvanparks/broken.html Not the best website but it is such a fkn awesome camp ground. It has it's own secluded beach and is only 10 mins drive from Byron if you need shops or whatever. |

There's a state forest park just over the nsw border. Probably more like 1.5/2 hours drive. Can't remember what the park is called but the main feature is Minion Falls. Usually not that many people there.

this was quite a many years back so i have no idea if its still there, but we used to go camping in easter to a place called (no pun intended) Christams Creek, Its south of brisbane from Beaudesert, on the way to Lamington National Park. When we used to go there it was a square parking area with ammenties not very big, but enough to accomodate about 6 large camps at a time with decent room, its on the banks of the Christmas creek, which is where the park is a lovely rock pool/ small water fall ish like thing, u can use river rocks to dam it up and create a decent spa like area, there is fish aswell, u can usualy get a decent feed of freshwater Catfish, and u can walk the banks of the river for quite awhile and it starts to open up abit (better for fishing). Small drive further south there was dairy farms which u could buy fresh milk, and for day trips u could go to lamington national park etc.
We used to thorougly enjoy it, and everyone else that stayed there was very sociable and by the end of the weekend u had always made a few new friends and there inter camp cricket was always fun ^_^. I believe the council down that way has recently made it a pay to camp location, which i guess is not bad as i said it does have toilets etc. once again this was quite a few many years ago now, its easily a day trip to check it out to see if its still there, and if not there is always a few places further up the national park way. and the best thing its only about 1hr and 30mins out of brisbane, or 30mins from beaudesert. http://www.racq.com.au/cps/rde/xchg/SID-342D8FD3-E5D490D1/racq_cms_production/hs.xsl/2933_ENA_HTML.htm Use location, Christmas Creek,QLD 4285 if it dosnt pick it up straight away. and totaly incoincidental i noticed this article in yesterdays paper when searching google http://www.thecouriermail.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5936,17636844%255E952,00.html as i said its a great place, even if u go for the day to check it out and whats up that way and plan for an easter weekend there its nice and chilly that time of year which i think makes camping all that more enjoyable +} last edited by 3x0dus at 00:58:42 24/Dec/05 |

I don't want to talk to any other campers ffs that's the point of not being around other people. I don't want no f***en barge, cos what if I need to drive back at 3am in the morning. Not actually going there to sleep.
I've camped many places near brisbane. WTF are you people talking about, there are campsites 10 minutes drive from my house in Samford and Brisbane Forest Park. I camp near Beaudesart and inland from the Gold Coast. Why did I ask about outdoor activities on this f***en forum.. ugh |
