I'm considering it, the free subscription really appeals to me. As long as it's a good game, I'll more than likely get it.

I don't expect it to be as good as WoW, but a game can be worse than WoW and still be awesome. Free subscription ftw.

I'll be picking it up.

It's out on the 28th in America and the non-preorder servers supposedly don't open till then, so tomorrow probably.

This site has alot of info on the game such as skill/profession descriptions and builds if anyone wants to read up before they start their character

I played the E3 thingy of this the first time around and it was pretty cool, was awesome when you got a cool team that worked together and got to the end of the catacomb battlegrounds and you were "the defending champions" against 2 or 3 teams, you didn't have bibs to specify a colour, you were just "the shiznit" =)

Thought the PvE areas kinda sucked and so did the way shops were done etc. it was beta and it'd be interesting to see the complete game though.

The thing that has annoyed me about every MMORPG I've played is that there is little point to it all. You start killing random creatures, just to get EXP. You get more EXP so you can fight tougher enemies, get more money, buy better weapons, to fight bigger enemies, to get more EXP. That's about it.

However, WoW, as I understand, actually has a reason for everything you do. Is Guild Wars similar in this respect?

Wow has no real reason. Quests are pretty much copy and paste of 1 of a few different types of quest with different words and graphics, but thats a limitation of computers really.

I picked up my copy of EB and Indro this morning. But alas I couldn't play it before I went to work as it only started at 3.

I will be going w/ne or el/mo

real life is kinda like that too... you work to get exp to get a better job with more money and more exp to get a better job with more money and more exp to get a better job with more money and more exp to get a better job with more money and more exp to get a better job with more money and more exp to get a better job with more money and more exp to get a better job with more money and more exp to get a better job with more money and more exp to get a better job with more money and more exp to get a better job with more money and more exp to get a better job with more money and more exp to get a better job with more money and more exp to get a better job with more money and more exp to get....

IRL, it's called a monsterous tower of money

was thinking of getting the game too... but from what i was reading, there's no subscription, so their regular revenue stream should be coming from game purchases and expansion packs (even though you don't need the packs, but who can resist a more uber char?). the thing is that i wonder what the cost and frequency of the packs are and how much it all adds up over a year.

I am wondering how often expansions come out and how fast mudflation is going to damage the community.

I am guessing very fast and faster.

The E3 beta was fun for a couple of hours, then it was rather lame. Can't see myself bothering with this game really unless they've radically changed it since beta.

I've heard lots of people saying it's not a true MMO game... I don't see how this is, anybody care to clarify?

As I understand it it has MMO "hub" type areas where you meet up and group up with people, then the actual game zones are small instanced zones spawned on another server (or maybe spawned on your own PC in a peer to peer fashion? Can't remember how they were talking about doing it), with just your group in them. Or your group and the dudes you're against if its pvp.

Yes, it's alot like diablo, with a fancier lobby.

Bnet didn't do that for ladder d2 games, so I doubt this would. Very much.

Just picked this one up and I'm now playing a mesmer/elementalist. Single player is a bit meh, I need to get some co-op action happening. Can't wait for the PvP though.
