Just got back from an advance screening of Shrek 2; me and stagrrr went along with every child 5 and under that lives in Brisvegas.
Despite a high level of background noise, awesome movie. Lots of great lines, typically awesome animation and a good story. Go see it (in two weeks when it comes out). |

I didn't think it was as good as the original. The animation was awesome but that but it seemed like an average story. Also noticed that all the songs used were quite terrible or was it just me?

I enjoyed it as much as the first. Plenty of funnies and the voice acting was top notch.
The soundtrack certainly was ass though, with the exception of Funky Town, that Ricky Martin song at the end was so out of place. |

the best bit from the whole movie was sitting next to these two little dudes; when the cinema went dark right before the movie started one of them said: "hey! i cant see?" then his mate next to him said: "hey, i cant see either".
hahhaha, i would have loved to have seen the confusion on their faces...except i couldnt see :/ |

Oh yeah, Shrek gave me the s***s after the ex ex made me watch it 50 billion times, so I'm skeptical of this one but I'll probably end up seeing it :)

Best part of the movie was the "pepper spray" and the pinochio scene.
*spoiler* Story: pinochio is dangling from his ropes down a drain pipe and they need his nose to extend so he can rescue some characters so they say 'quick tell a lie', and he replies 'I dont know what to say?' then donkey (I think) says 'say, "I'm wearing womens underwear"' there's a brief pause, then pinochi says 'I'm wearing womens underwear', and nothing happens shrek goes 'really? what kind' gave me a roflle. |

Would have been funny seeing these two guys at a childrens movie but I will see it myself. The subtle humour through out both movies would lead anyone to believe it is not a childrens movie, or at least not just a childrens movie. there are scenes that would make kids laugh, but at the same time adults would laugh.. but for a different, underlying reason. example; in shrek 1 where Shrek says 'Do you think maybe he's compensating for something?' (referring to the HUGE castle) |

Are you talking about American adults or intelligent ones?

First half of the movie is probably a little dull, but fortunately picks up in the second half :) Quite a few funny moments ie the pepper spray and the womens underwear scene :)

I feel for you Loki, I had to watch 'The cat in the hat' yesterday.
GF's next door neighbours twin daughters had a birthday the other day, and she got them some movie tickets.. and said that she (meaning me) would take (drive) them to the movies. so I got stuck at chermside, because I had to drive. wheres the love |

So what did you think of Puss In Boots? A mate in the US thought he stole the show.
It's funny going to the movies to see something like Shrek as an adult. Almost feel guilty but there is so much humour aimed at adults I shouldn't. Probably go see Shrek 2 with some friends and their kids so I've got an excuse :) |
