on american servers, i usually get 50-75KB/sec dl, but with aus servers, i get AT LEAST 150KB/sec...the top is 250KB/sec...in fact, i recently downloaded all 5 linux disc isos from red hat...their primary is slower that dogs*** on a cold day, some with all the american servers i tried, but of the 3 aus mirrors, i only needed the first one...650MB in 1 hour or less kicks ass! i remember the days of dial-up...lucky if it got 20MB in an hour...dammit, i can never go back now! |

appart from america sucking arse, here is the thing (aus gamer's duty to hate americans) in aus our broard band is so f***ed atm its not funny, with telstra running the show and no competition in site we have plenty of broadband to throw around, in america u have something like, (guess) 200k AOL users, im sure way more but online at one time, u wouldnt believe how slow that makes servers and s***, normaly when america is asleep is the only time i can download anything from your country at a acceptable rate. |
