Im in need of cash for some new ram so ive decided to sell this, thought id try here before ocau as id prefer someone local over post. The lcd is a 20x4 green backlight, crystal fontz http://www.crystalfontz.com/products/2004a/index.html#CFAH2004AYYBJP (top one on that page). It comes prewired and setup so no case cutting/soldering is required.

The red and black cord connects from a molex connector on your psu to a pci bracket. The bracket can be screwed in and the grey power cable connects it to the lcd, this allows for neat wiring if that concerns you. The cream lcd cable connects through the motherboards serial port.

If you havent seen one of these in action before, they can be used for a variety of things. Scrolling/flashing cpu temps, hd space, ram usage, processor speed and so on. Another funky thing they can do is work as an equalizer using a winamp plugin. Here is a short movie of the winamp plugin on the same model lcd screen.

The box is wooden with a good coat of vinyl black spraypaint. Looks quite nice for a home made job imo :) As i said these are quite popular amongst case modders on ocau but id like to see if i could sell it here first.

nah ocau is a tougher market, hence the lower price. Nice starting bid though phathead. Im not in a great hurry to get the cash, so if anyone really wants it but cant get the cash for a little while thats cool, im sure we could come to some sort of arrangement :)

how much did you pay for the LCD?

i paid more than the reserve just for the lcd screen (no box/cables). Ive only had it for a month but i keep buying too much comp hardware and need to get a car in a month so cash is short.

Its also got rubber stoppers on the base so it sits nicely on monitors or slightly sloped surfaces.
