My Grandmother use to work at Parliament House donkeys years ago in catering. I have a napkin here somewhere in the house that she got the Don to sign for her. It was pre- knighthood, simply signed Don Bradman.

He was a great cricketer & Aussie for sure, have you seen that old footage of him practicing with a cricket stump and a golf ball? He is whacking this golf ball into a ricketty old wooden fence and is consistently hitting it square on and back into the fence with a bloody stump!

How's that for an accurate eye and reactions..

Yeah he was renowned as a great young bloke. Well I guess you can say at least that he died doin what he loved best....

I know we shouldn't take this post away from the Don, but I kinda see Todds death as more of a tragedy...

The Don said himself that there were many players that had more coaching than him,b ut he had a 'freakish' nature to middle the ball when he wanted.

If only the Don could pass on his sportsmanship to f*****s like Shane Warne and Glen McGrath.. only then will Australian Cricket be the same as it used to be, all those years ago...

For me Don Bradman represented everything that was great in Australian sport. We could all take a leaf out of his book not just our elite sports stars,he was and will always be remebered as a true gentleman and a great sportsman.

Not many ppl have ever had the respect of so many in as many countries and I doubt anyone will be as missed as much our Don.

Not only was Don Bradman the greatest cricketer in history, he was an insperation to an entire generation. The world is a poorer place without his personage...
