Yes, we did.

In the Finals between SAS and LS - SAS triumphed in a 3 map epic.

The champion team consisted of:
[SAS]MullaC
[SAS]General.JaX
[SAS]Maj.Mirage
[SAS]Sgt.StreX

I will now give a run down of the competition from SAS' perspective...

First of all, Cybergames rocks. They have a great setup, excellent machines, and above all great referees that keep the comp running smoothly. The matches were played under the conditions of 20 mins each way in the Best of Three maps.

The first game SAS had for the day was against the FluffyBunnies, who are currently highly ranked in WirePlay's CScore and undefeated in approx 18 wars. SAS defeated FB by a large margin in two maps, Cobble and Nuke.

After a short break, we were up against CnC who did well to get this far after they defeated a few of the well known clans (fTC?). SAS defeated CnC on Cobble and Prodigy, SAS only dropped a few rounds throughout both maps.

In the semi-finals, LS was too strong for LG in both Prodigy and Cobble. I am sure -]LG[-Axis will have a few things to say about this war, as it must have been a true struggle for both sides. They are two very strong and consistant clans.

Time for the finals, the L33t Scouters vs the Snipers And Souljahs.

LS won the coin toss, and predictably they chose to play on Aztec :(
SAS did not expect to win on this map - and we didn't. SAS were CT first and went down in a respectful 10 - 07. When we were Ts, we got owned and could not penetrate LS's long range defence.

We knew we would have to win the next map or it is all over, so SAS decided to play Prodigy. Here is where we got our confidence back and concentrated on the task at hand. As CTs we locked down that base so tight that LS could only manage to win a few rounds, although so many times it was down to 2 remaining players to duel it out, or defusing the bomb split seconds before it explodes. SAS ended up winning that map, which inturn forced a third map to be played.

The decider map was to be chosen at random. Nuke was picked out of a hat, and I really did not know how to react. I neither love or hate this map, so I just accepted it. SAS have only had 1 clan war on this map before this comp (at QGL against SOM) so I just came up with a few quick tactics and we prayed they would succeed.

As Terrorists, with a little help from Mr. AK47, we quickly found ourselves with a 10 - 00 lead. We knew we would have to increase this margin if we wanted to survive the LS Terrorist assault, so we proceeded to do so :)

When it was SAS' turn to go CT, we were well aware that LS were gonna snipe our ass at the first opportunity, so we used a tactic where we drew them into designated killing zones. This worked extremely well, and we hung onto our lead and therefor we won the competition convincingly.

At this stage I cannot remember any of the scores for the day, but I will update this when I have access to all this information.

So what did we win? $1000 IN COLD HARD CASH!!!! YAY! I can afford to eat now.

For the mathematically challenged, that is $250 each. Not f***en bad eh?

Another great feature of the Cybergames LAN is they keep a log and recorded stats of all the events throughout the clan wars. They recorded all kills/deaths ratios etc and offered an extra $50 to the top player out of all the 64 dudes who competed.

So who was this top player and fine cyber athlete you ask?

That's right, humble [SAS]Sgt.StreX claims the extra dough. Although being the devoted clan leader that I am, I made a deal with my SAS compatriots that if any of us won this illustrious prize, we would divide it amongst ourselves (why am I such a nice guy FARKEN!) so this would avoid any of us getting frag hungry and straying out of position.

So there you have it, what a great competition. Congratulations must go to all the teams that competed especially LS for putting up such a great fight. It was truely a class battle, and they got a nice cake for coming second too! I must admit though, LS are champions of Aztec. NEVER war these guys on this map, it's f***ing humiliating (every single one of them was an AWP whore!).

SAS hasn't done to bad over the past year and a half..

i had a great time, im just annoyed about the MAJOR f*** up with the servers during the LG vs LS war, because i reckon we'd have taken LS to a 3rd map given the scores at the time, probably not won, but still taken it to a 3rd map, anyhows, i can't be bothered going into detail, i was just enjoying such a close match against another great clan and that was a f***ed thing to happen!

they only won because I wasnt there, If I was there I would have used "the grabber" to tug on thier mouse cables and headphones while they played.

I would have been really funny at the time and I would have laughed, but they wouldnt have laughed because they would have lost.

OK first just wanted to say that the point deduction wasn't for ghosting. I was the one penalised both times and it was for checking what position swat was holding while we were both still alive. Both times were in the first 20 seconds of a round without even an enemy spotted. I really need to learn how to use my fricken radar better. But thats what u get for being the clan newbie eh?

Just don't want people thinking we cheated cause we didn't. Hell I can't see how checking to see where a teammate is is woth penalising anyways. The intel u get from looking at his screen is identical to what a good teammate will tell u and speaking was allowed.

I'd like to see some rules rewritten before the next cybergames comp, aside from the rules the entire comp was unreal.. aside from coming home to my "lesser" machine :-(
