I kind of knew my harddrives were running a bit hot, but I had no idea just how hot. I almost burned my fingers on them, which is obviously bad, so I decided to cool them...

A quick look around and I found the hsf off Lyco's long-dead Celery 300A. A few minutes later, and here's the results:

Yeah, about $16. That's the only price I could find, and that was for a GlobalWin unit (but similar design).

Haha... just noticed that $16 dollar one is made by Just Cooler.... sif I'd ever buy Just Cooler again after their slot A twin-fan HSF nearly killed my athlon 700 by both fans carking it within three weeks of purchase. :(

And a friend had a loan of the same twin-fan hsf for his athlon while waiting for his Golden Orb to arrive... his Just Cooler died in the span of one weekend!!

They are utter s*** and I wouldn't trust them to even cool a 486.

Those HDD Coolers Like that just cooler one above arn't very good. Like, I doubt they would make a difference.

have 2 ibm drives and 2 western digitals and they kinda heat up in the one box
