Well lemme just say f***! RIGHT NOW! Just to get it out of the system.

I have a fresh install of winME quake2 complete with all the ctf goodness. I have a geforce2 gts 64mgs.

When I load it up I can play a map for up to 10 seconds and the game freezes, screen goes blank and my monitor shuts off... any sounds are just frozen.

Any ideas. Or should I just stick to the Q3 :(

you're doing better than me man - my geforce just won't work in q2 unless i play in software mode :(

there's a thousand things that could be causing it.

but if your q3 still works fine then it might be a prob with your q2 install itself?

do what I did, get q2 lite. download the q2 demo from wherever, hit it with the 3.20-fullctf patch and jump in a server. see how that goes.

Hmm, quake2 comes complete with it's own opengl.dll

maybe a big mother conflict between that and poxy ME?

Just the standard nvidia drivers... from the cd... the det3 drivers are all over the place or so i thought?

Im running Win ME as well, I have a Geforce2 MX and Quake 2 runs fine in OpenGL mode, im using the 6.5 drivers.

If you have the Q2 cd then just copy the data folder into a q2 dir and that will be your q2 dir.
then just install all the updates.

my q2 runs fine but as soon as i join ctf qgl server it just locks then kicks me off?
