Just reformatted my mates computer...
AMD K6-2/500, i loaded WIN98se on it, defraged drive, loaded all drivers and found that it does not shut down half the time(goes to the "windows is shutting down" screen and does nothing)...

No problems with my 2 computers (p3/450 and cel733) with WIN98se on them...

Any solutions guys???

Is it to do with the AMD processor, or is it the mother board???

is the power suppy on the Amd system a AT or ATX?
coz if its a AT power supply thats ya prob, only atx
power supply does auto turn off , if he has a atx
power conector on this mainboard ya can just buy atx one...hope this helps :)

if its ATX it won't shut off
but if its sits on the shutting down your computer screen then it still needs the patch
you should be able to buy an atx psupp but they are almost as much as a case most of the time

well i ised to have the prob on my cel 400 and what i discovered that the standard drivers that came with my network card were causing it. If u have a realtek NIC get the latest drivers for it and the prob should go away (well it did for me anyway)
