May I again suggest a post limit before being able to create a thread, it may stop or at least hinder the trolls.

what limit do you propose?

I'd suggest a 50-100 limit before a troll thread could be started.
smith wants to be door, but me thinks stevo is smith.

It would stop spam advertising too, but it would only be effective against either of these things if the limit was a significant number of posts, like 50. And at a number that high the AG chaps would probably be worried that it'd be too much of a deterrent to genuine new members.

What about something like a new account must be authorised by AG admins and can't create a thread until a week after it's been authorised? Then they could check IP addresses against current accounts, etc. to stop moronic troll accounts and having to wait a week should help deter spammers from creating an account just to paste some advertising and quickly move on.

The biggest problem of all, though, is of course that the more traffic there is on the site, the more income there should be from advertising. So even negative activity is a positive for the business as long as it's not so unpleasant that it drives regulars away..

Leave it how it is, there have been some funny posts.. Like the guy who posted 2 threads at once, one asking for CoD hacks and the other recruited for his world-ranking CoD Clan.

10 or 20

easy target, but far enough away from ad men, and trolls to bother with

So why not get the ban hammer out on 'Stevo'? ALL of his posts have been trolls, most have been nuked. Why the tolerance?

something similar is on the TODO, but it's not that big a deal.

The trolls really are not that big a deal - please just ignore them. Please, please just don't post in their threads. You guys can spot them almost as easily as we can; just ignore them until we can get in place to clean it up

thanks for the feedback though!!
