Yeah, I know I'm probably a bit slow on the uptake on this one, seeing as its been going for aaaaaaaaaaaages now. But it just recently showed up on iView, so I watched the first few episodes of it, and then went out and bought the dvds. Its really good! Normally I hate police procedural type shows, but this one shines through with typical HBO quality, and its awesome how the whole season is about them putting 1 case together, and all the work that goes into it and stuff.

Anyway, probably old news to a lot of people here, but I figured for anyone else who's maybe heard of the show before and thought about checking it out, definitely do. The first few eps might still be around on iView, but if not, find it however you can, really good stuff. There was a scene where two cops spend 5 minutes casing a crime scene and examining things and finding clues and the only two words spoken (repeatedly) the whole time are "f***" and "motherf***er". My kind of cop show.

Think iView is up to season 3 now with the first few eps gone.

The wire s1 was awesome, but i tried to continue on with s2 and it broke me, couldnt finish it. Everyone tells me it was the s***test season and you can more or less skip it entirely with s3 picking up from the awesomeness of s1.

definately worth a watch.

S2 was hard, not sure if it was the plan but it seemed to be them trying to show that white people are criminals too (well, white unionised dock workers anyway). Once they got over the race stuff and back to their core it returned to awesome.

I thought it was because every season focused on a different part of the process. Docks - Streets - Schools - Media - Politics etc

Just so happens lots of whitey likes to hang out at the docks

It's my favourite drama show by far. I understand Season 2 is a hard slog for some people but I really enjoyed it.

Great show, had 3 weeks holidays reciently and watched every episode.
Fully rate it.

I have just been rewatching it (almost finished last season). It is truly great television. McNulty ftw.
