windows 98 se :D :D u have to set it up ur self and make 1 comp a dhcp sever then u specify that computer an internal ip and make that ip the dns or dhcp host for the other computers. thats the simple rundown |

reggy he wants to go throught a dcc(direct cable connection)which is not a network...and then go through the cable modem. u cant do that through dcc |

Actually, there is a way of doing it. Well I can't remember how unfortunately, but theres a link somewhere around the net. You can actually fool serial connections into being "used" as a network. This method also allows you to play modem-to-modem games with games that do not have modem-to-modem support. I think you have to bind TCP/IP (or IPX/SPX) to your DCC or modem adapter. I can't remember but I do remember doing it once or twice. |

I remember using laplink, and thats the progrma that should be able to do it, since we got a laptop on the net, threw a PC connected to the net via a server with ISDN. :D just some s*** we did on weekends to get the large patches that we didnt want to rar and move by disk. (still rememer Raring every CS beta and putting on my machine, lpus that q3test) |
