I got 32gb 3gs model and trying to connect to my alpine 9887 headunit and it's not working.

I updated to 3.1.2. and it stopped working, i JB'd it and noticed yesterday it was working, I re-synced phone last night to put more music on and now it's not working..

Any ideas?

Ah doesn't your phone auto update when you re-synch it? Mine does.

How does the iphone connect to your head unit? Bluetooth?

Sounds like your phone is updating its own firmware to a version your alpine unit does not like. I haven't jailbreaked my phone though. You have totally thrown away your chances at warranty now. I hope it was worth it.

You can just restore it and there is zero evidence of jailbreak, how is that sucking of apple's teet going for you? :P

Damo, how are you connecting it to your head unit? Aux line in on the unit or bluetooth?

Just using normal 30pin connector at bottom of the phone..

Does it work when the iphone is in airport mode? I've got a 9887 and recall a friends iPhone not working very well with it.

Edit: Id be inclined to go browse mobileelectronics.com.au for some possible solutions.

Well the Alpine CDA-9887 has a dedicated ipod cable you see, not a 3.5mm jack.

And it came out before they pushed towards USB based conectivity in their headunits.
