Currently I'm using winmd5 v2.07 and wondering if there's any better alternatives out there. Which program do you all use and favour? I have ubuntu installed so it can be either a windows or linux program.

I use 2hash, cuz it does md5s and sha1s at the same time! 2hash for Windows, compiled by me; it's available for lunix as well. It's a bit rough and ready (no help, doesn't handle bad inputs well, etc) but works fine. For Windows I use some random md5.exe that I have, but I'd also recommend Nullriver's Winmd5sum - http://www.nullriver.com/products/winmd5sum - it is, or was, open source. It's really cool. Also, I hacked in SHA1 support into it; you can download my compiled version from here (I think I have the source if anyone cares). |

For single files I use HashTab.
Adds a tab to the file Properties menu, offering several hash outputs .. http://homepage.powerup.com.au/~boldajis/images/ht.png |
