How do i remove window tint off a car window fellas? has anyone done it before? i'm thinking razor blade and soap.. but i hear its a c*** of a job to do.

its a big ol' whore of a job depending how badly damaged it is if you get lucky you should be able to peel it off in big sections otherwise you can steam it off, basically wet the inside of the rear window, sticky tape a big black garbage bag to the inside and leave it in the sun for a few hours it will deteriorate rapidly and should make getting it off less painful and unfortunately, you run the risk of ruining the rear demister (dont use a razor anywhere near the demister lines) also you can use diluted metho on a rag to wipe the window/glue off once the tint is off if the first method doesn't work, a heat gun will last edited by tequila at 18:43:52 12/Mar/09 |

If you've got a handheld steam cleaner, use that instead of the garbage bag method. If you're lucky you should be able to get it to start to peel and you won't need to use a razor blade at all. Just peel it off and use a rag and some turps to clean all the adhesive off.

+1 for heat gun
also, wax n grease remover and/or thinners will help with the glue. just be careful of heatgun and thinners, or kaboom |
