sup guys
iv restarted preseason training for my epic soccar career, and since like 2nd session back my left thigh (hammy quad ) has been super f***ing stiff. iv just stretched it out for literally 15 minutes and its right to train on, we have a trail match tomorrow night and iv been training hard and its stiff as a f***ing board. no amount of stretching is loosening it up. i can do the most painful stretch in the shower with the hot water on it and its not even loosening up so iv booked a deep tissue / sports massage for tomorrow. is this the right thing to be doing? team mates said it is, but not to let the masseur go full strength since i have to play on it a couple of hours after the massage. full strength they said = limp for a day or 2 any pros out there can help? |

Yeah, at least. If they go full on, expect to be barely able to walk for at least the next day. The tighter your muscles are and lower your flexibility, the more it's going to hurt like a bitch.
To properly look after yourself you want to be getting that kind of stuff done pretty regularly - for me it's at least once a month. In the meantime, get yourself a foam roller. 15 minutes of stretching won't do s***. |

Where did you book?
I've been to http://www.ambiencebodytherapies.com.au/ @ Gregor Tce, Bardon. Had the deep tissue one which was good. Your probably after: Sports Massage An invigorating massage designed specifically for those who exercise regularly, whether for fun or as a professional athlete. |

i can touch my toes bending over but it stings a tad, but it goes away pretty quick As in stingy tingling in your toes? Or muscle pain? I know when I don't stretch legs for ages I get major nerve tingling at the start of the stretch. I know when I did Karate we'd do quads, groin/adductors (i.e. person lifts your leg out to the side), calves, gluteus and a some upper body ones for about 10 mins. Try the piriformis stretch too (stretches an ass muscle close to the sciatic nerve lol its good news). |

yeh you cant play after deep tissue massage... it makes you tired..
not to sure who you are going with... but Ive had many masseuse but no one is strong enough... found this guy who abosulte awesome... he does AFL guys sometimes... but he is pain in the arse to get into... absolutely love them... i come back with massive purple bruises every from neck to my ankle :) BTW you can do your own deep tissue massages by doing triggering massages... get a tennis ball and put it under the tight spot then put your weight on it... you can use other things as well or get a proper triggering device |
