Just picked this up from my local EB Games this morning, threw it in, fired it up...and nothing!
Activation for this is through steam, it's then I notice the little message on the steam window telling me activation will be permitted in 13 hours! Damm tease, what's the good of getting a game early if you can't play it? |

Haha that is so lame. I would definitely take it back. That is so not the standard experience you should expect when buying a video game; if it's on the shelf and they don't have a massive sticker or something saying its not playable for 2 weeks, its a reasonable expectation that it should work out of the box. |

I picked up my copy this morning as well before work... at least I know I can't play it :) otherwise I would def be feeling sick.. cough cough. I think the deal is they want everyone on a level playing field starting at the same time... pretty weird that we can't play single player though. I wonder if I put the date forward on my PC and disconnected the net... *oh right steam activation! damn them!!! |

I thought this was common knowledge? The game isn't supposed to be released in AUS until tomorrow, probably for this exact reason.

Dawn Of War 2 what game is relate to... is like warcraft 3? It's more like Company of Heroes with even less base building. Very fun though. |

Ok, I'm having an issue that's preventing me from playing and was looking for some advice. For starters, when I was finally able to install the game, it took over 3 hours to do so from one DVD, I've never had this happen to me. Anyways, the game is fully installed, and starting it up (through steam), it tells me that there is a problem with my local games files and will be now re-acquired from the steam servers, then it just sits there doing nothing. Now I'll admitt this is the first time I've used steam, but seriously WTF!

Turns out I just had a dodgy copy. Went down to EB Underwood, swapped it over and now I'm enjoying the goodness that is DoW2

beware if your game crashes it can corrupt your save game and you will have no missions which i've unfortunately discovered for myself =(

Do you use a router for your internet or does it come straight into your PC? Cos if you use a router, you might need to open some ports for Live to work properly, I had to on my router.

Jabroney, Look for a setting in your router that says MTU. In order for Live to work this has to have a value higher than 1365 if it's lower than that change it to like 1500 and try again

LOL that douche spent the whole review talking about single player. If you even click on the single player exe you should not be allowed to have an opinion on this game.
CoH and Dow series are easily the best RTS games ever made. |
