I have no idea what I'm going to do. The last rail strike I can remember was a couple of years back when I was working @ Telstra above Roma St station - That day it took me nearly 3hrs to get from Morayfield into Roma st.... Given my normal commute now is a 1hr train ride from Burpengary to Toowong, Driving/taking a bus to work on mon/wed will probably be a 3hr epic adventure in frustration.

Hrm...live in Bulimba, work at Toowong. I think I'll drive to Apollo Road so I can jump on at the start of the route and get myself a seat cause its gonna be PACKED!

Except all of those extra people driving because they can't catch the trains.

I predict that instead of 13min, I can make it to work in 11min.
I wont have to deal with the few cars driving to park at the Train station close to work. They'll be going another direction.

erh the drive into the valley will be an enjoyable one, and then home again, not to mention parking when I eventually get there.

Are they disputing the excessive pay they already get again?

Oh geez, danm. I'm predicting that my commute on Monday will go from 70 minutes to 70 minutes.

Besides. We've already had enough calcellations in Melbourne this summer to last us a year.

Maybe they should. Alas the rail union would have something to bitch about that then too.

yeah I'm a douche because I have a work ethic
if I didn't like my job or thought I wasn't paid enough, I'd just go get a new job.

This whole strike is f***ing stupid. If the RBTU and Locomotive Drivers Union don't want to work Sundays they should open QR up for casual and part-time train staff. The main reason there is a lack of services on the network during non-peak times is due to a lack of drivers not rolling stock.

The unions bitch that their sundays are being taken away yet fight tooth and nail to keep their little boys-club of train staff from being 'invaded' by non-FT drivers/guards.

This is pathetic. If I was the mayor, I would just ban Queensland Rail from doing business in Brisbane for a period long enough to dry up their capital. That is a lot of money they would lose. Good. I hate Queensland Rail and it's employees SOOOO much. They treat all of their customers as though they have stolen something. I have never heard a QR employee speak in a normal tone, or with any semblence of manners. Pretty crap when there is no 'alternative' train service for people who are definitely not stealing.

Also as Mayor I would ban all business being conducted by Brisbane residents until the tunnels are built and roads are fixed. It is beyond a joke. That means no buying of food or petrol, or anything. Stop what you're doing, and fix the roads first.

Got a problem with that? Grab a shovel and help.

f*** train drivers man.

Its a f***ing joke that they miss the red lights or whatever, and are attempting to reduce the number that are run on a regular basis. Apparently the reason is because the driver is asleep or making coffee or some s***, f***en asleep while driving a train.

How can they justify running even one...

how about this
the train drivers strike
and QR brings in ex-mining workers trained-up(lol) in dubai
and then there's a picket line so these workers can't get to the trains
and patricks QR just look like giant pricks

I have never understood why its so bad to cross picket lines
honestly if you're between me and somewhere I need to be, you better step the f*** off !@!@!@!@ cause tequila will e-thug you

but seriously, whats supposed to be so bad about crossing someone elses picket line, do you go to hell or something?
and like, what if you don't give a f*** about what ever they're picketing about, why do they expect us to care at all?

settle down you lot of plonkers, I was talking to a rail worker at Roma St last night and he said the ones that wanted to work could come in, so not all services are going to be fauxed, just most.
