Topic: Logitech X-530 out of phase?

I have a set of Logitech X-530s and have the front two speakers hooked up to my Mac mini (with the subwoofer but only the two front satellites connected), but haven't used them for a while. But I think the speakers are out of phase and its making me feel bizarre when listening to anything cause the sound feels like its in some obscure extra dimension somewhere slightly to the left of the centre of the two speakers.

When I had them hooked up in 5.1 to my X-Fi card in my former PC I don't believe I had this problem.

The sound itself is normal and clear and bassy etc, its just the phase of the two satellites is making the position of the sound feel bizarre to listen to.

Anyone know how to fix this?

EDIT ** I just realised it could possibly be that I'm using one of the rear speakers on the left front channel as the connection on the proper front left speaker is dodgy. Reckon this could be the problem?

Probably not helping, but Officeworks has Logitech X530's on sale for $85 atm.

I got the X540's for Christmas. Super happy :)

Logitech speakers are a joke. Maybe just my ones. But all the speakers and headphones are connected to the right speaker - instead of something practical like the subwoofer or front center. Then the right speaker is connected to the subwoofer, which is connected to my computer.

So I have a cable running from my computer to my subwoofer. Then from my subwoofer... back...past my computer...to the right speaker... then a cable from that running back past my computer, past the subwoofer, to the left speaker, and so on...

I had to buy like 2 extra monitor cables and 50 bucks of audio cable extensions. Don't get me started on the amount of humming and buzzing this causes.

The right speaker connects to the audio source and then to the subwoofer with a GamePort style connector then out from the sub to the other satellites. The volume/power controls are on that speaker. I might try the proper front left speaker and see if it fixes it. Hopefully the RCA plug connects decently.

thermite i think you are doing it wrong... What model speakers do you have? I've had a few sets of logitech ?.1 speakers. And with all of them the satellite speakers connect to the sub, which is connected to the front right (control speaker) with the game port cable. The control speaker then connects to the sound card with the appropriate number of audio cables.

Turns out the front left speaker is different to the rear ones (phase i guess).

All my inputs go into a little box that sits on my desk, that connects to the sub woofer via what looks like a db9 serial plug and all the speakers are connected to the sub.

Also all 4 of my satellite speakers are the same, fronts/rears, lefts/rights, I can just interchange them. Odd they'd make yours different. Make sure you're putting the positive wire into the positive terminal too, you could try swapping them around & see if that helps though unless you have some plug that doesn't allow you to change the polarity.
