So I've got a problem with playing BF2 online.. First, when I launch the game and go to multiplayer section, it finds 40 servers none Australian, thus they all have 300+ ping. Second, when I use Xfire, the pings are high and if I join the server, it asks me for the username etc. and opens the game up. I just can't join an Aussie server lol?! And internet connection isn't a problem because I've played both COD4 and CS:S online with ping below 60. Thanks for your help! |

If you search for a specific game server (like 'gamearena') does it show up in the list? Are you sure you don't have some weird filter set that is filtering them out (like punkbuster disabled or something)? |

Are you sure you don't have some weird filter set that is filtering them out (like punkbuster disabled or something)? Well now another problem arouse... I'll describe everything: this night the electricity has gone out, somehow slowing my router down ( internet was working really slow ). Before that the speed was normal and I could login to BF2. But, after restarting the router, the speed is normal although I can't log in BF2! I tried CS:S and it works normally. Thanks and soz for all the troubles ^^ |

Sounds like a DNS issue, give it some time to sort out.

have you tried recalibrating the routers internal wavelength? Sometimes power surges can disrupt them. Try putting it in the microwave on LOW for a minute or so. Make sure the powers on LOW tho because you dont want to cook your router :)
hope this helps |

Ok...Now I am able to login in. It seems that time works with my router (ROFL). So now I'm asking if I need any special connection settings because when I try to join a gamearena server for example, it says that I should check my network connections. Now that is BS! Any clue on this s***? |
