Good to see Gambit getting some spotlight in this one. They would only f*** up Deadpool's character if they put him in anything.

Just read up on the this Deadpool character. He seems cool, they better make sure he breaks the forth wall in the film a couple of times.. Otherwise the movie will be insta-fail.

I was wondering who the hell that Liev Schreiber guy was playing and it didn't click until the last few seconds when you see his fangs it's like... OH, s*** how could I miss that? Trailer needs more deadpool though. 1/2 a second stupid looking clip isn't enough

Yea completely missed that. It's Ryan Reynolds playing him. So where would I go to read up on this specific Deadpool character? I thought Deadpool's face was f***ed up from cancer.

Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson / Deadpool: A wisecracking and thoroughly insane mercenary who can heal like Wolverine. Reynolds had been interested in playing the character in his own film since 2003. Computer-generated imagery is being used to create his eventually scarred visage. |

I'm reading it now (Watchmen) and its unlike any graphic novel I've ever read. I can see why people like it so much or at least respect it.
Thats the problem right there, I don't think Fox respects anything other than the bottom line. |

Its not that Watchmen is going to be s***, its not even made by Fox, its made by Warner Brothers. The Fox references to Watchmen are about all the legal battles going on atm, where Fox are claiming they still own the rights to it, and are standing in the way of Warner Brothers releasing the film, thats where all the Watchmen related Fox hate comes from.

I think we all understand that WB has made the Watchmen movie.
Fox is simply trying to get the cold hard $. Fox have realized that WB has a good movie which has the potential to make money which is something they can't seem to do of late. They just want a cut of the pie. If it means interfering and slowing down the release date, then so be it. Thats the way they are thinking imo. I know Alan Moore is an eccentric, cranky old bugger but after reading about all this crap surrounding the Watchmen movie I can understand why he wants to distance himself so much from the movie business. |

Just got back from cinemas seeing this.
Same movie as everyone saw before it was released. There is no 14minutes of extra movie. Only extra bits is like 1min worth just after credits start and at very end of the credits. Some of the special effects are truely shocking..Still looks very fake. |

sad news about the new movie being crap in the special effect dept... i liked the original xmen movie, thought #2 was a bit crap coz they killed off jean grey & #3 was total bollox imo. i still haven't seen watchmen yet but i'm hoping i'll like it. |

Does Deadpool break the 4th wall in the movie? Because if he doesn't they failed his character.

Does Deadpool break the 4th wall in the movie? Because if he doesn't they failed his character. Not only does he NOT do this, but he only has around 1 minute of speaking time, then they turn him into a mute, braka-esque (think MK2) super mutant with dozens of abilities. Just fail. |

The movie started off looking very cool then it turned into a big pile of fail. The way Logan lost his memory was absolutely retarded as well. Can't believe that's the best idea they could come up with.

Yeah, Deadpool at the end of the movie wasn't Deadpool. It was some weird, spastic idea birthed out of the mind of a hack script writer who decided he wanted to rape, and then s*** on the character.
I guess overall, I didn't hate the movie, but it was pretty average, and most of the best action scenes were already spoiled in the trailers. It was strangely paced too, it was paced a bit too slow for the action movie I was expecting it to be, yet it wasn't really written well enough to pull off the drama they were going for. |

OMG, one of the hall-marks of Deadpool was frequently breaking the 4th wall and knowing that he was in a comic book.
I guess the character was just too far advanced for the puny minds that make up the majority of Hollywood script writers. They probably attempted to write a script that sticks to the character, but when they began to write a line that spoke directly to the audience their head exploded. No other writer was willing to give it a try, it was probably the blood and brains that scared them. |

The 4th wall isn't like an actual thing, its just a figure of speech used to describe a character that knows its a fictional character. Like if a character knows its in a comic book, or knows its in a movie, or a tv show, or whatever.

Peter does this in the new family guy episode. He lays on top of Connie (don't know if thats how you spell or name or anything) and after a second turns to "us" and says, What are you looking at? It's a cartoon.
Nothing like that in this movie |
