I've always wondered why internet wasn't sold like this. First time I've seen it anyway.

Basically $5/mth + $1.50/GB data. So if you use 50GB then you pay $80 - pretty standard price. Good for the months when you aren't so heavily downloading though. Which is I guess never, but hey!

Heh, I must be tired I missed that. But you are right - wow, that makes it pretty darn good. I wonder what aaNet service is like.

I'm still keen on iiNet at the moment (although I am with ComCen) - because of the Freezone, in particular the English Premier League streaming which doesn't count towards quota.

Wow, I've only downloaded 3.5 gig this month with 7 days left on my usage period. If only I could get any form of DSL here :(

I had aaNet before moving - top notch ISP. You really do get what you pay for though. There is no AH/weekend support, its a bit iffy at the best of times and so on.

If I wasn't able to get Naked then I'd be signing up with them again for sure.

I've been with aaNet for about 4 years now. I've only had an outage once in that time, otherwise I've never had a problem. I'd recommend them.

That would be a pretty awesome plan for like parents and stuff who use the internet for email/news/occasional video streaming, they wouldn't pay more than $10.

Hehe, I reckon it'd be high-risk for parents where they can't control their kiddies who have no concept of household expenses.

yeh that sounds pretty good but really ONLY if your average usage is between certain values. You'd have to be tech-savvy as well so you knew you weren't going over it and racking up a huge bill.

If you could put in a self-imposed cap (ie, "throttle me when I get to 80gb") as a safety net that'd be good.

Well trog, you would have to be pretty tech savvy in the first place to rack up a bill of more than $80.

Besides, the company that pays you charges much more atrocious rates for excess usage (something to the tune of $150/GB).

It makes a joke of my 15gig for $60 from Optus Cable.
I only get through about 8gig.

whats that work out to ?
$17 a month ?
no wonder my butt hurts

Just another reason why Telstra and Optus should not be allowed to build the FTTN

its a limited offer ...

after 6 months it goes back to some other normal plan but its free to churn.
