hey guys.

short version:

please help me with my stat1201 assignment by going to this site and doing the reflex test 20 times - 10 with sunnies on 10 without and tell me your times. - must be between 18 and 50 years old and not have epilepsy. Im going for about 30 people total with a 1:1 male:female ratio but probably wont get that here. so please tell me a/s not l

Reflex game.

long version.

im doing STAT1201 at UQ. One of the assignments requires us to make up and do our own experiment involving people plants or animals and it has to be something within our budget (whatever we decide that is being a student).

heres what the uni wants me to do

The aim of this project is for you to design and carry out a study involving a comparative experiment, in the sense described in Section 2 of the textbook. That is, to collect your data you should be actively applying at least two different treatments which may have an effect on some response.

Simple examples of experiments include

* growing seeds under a variety of controlled conditions, such as different levels of fertilizer, watering, or sunlight
* dissolving tablets in different liquids or at different temperatures
* comparing flight durations between paper planes made of different materials

Try to choose a topic that is of interest to you.

Examples of "experiments" that are not appropriate include

* comparing petrol prices at different petrol stations or times of day
* comparing colour distributions of M&M's
* comparing heights, handspans, weights, etc. between males and females

These are all observational studies and so are not allowed as experiments for this project. The one exception to this rule is experiments that do not involve applying treatments but in which the measurement process is not trivial. For example, comparing heights or shoe sizes of males and females is not rich enough for this project but trying to compare breath capacity or memory is suitable as a challenging problem.

You should get people to do it sober and then after a beer, then after 3 beers and so on.

This reminds me of a documentary I was watching where they got top guys from the military to run an obstacle, put a gun together and shoot at a target. Then got them to do it again after sitting in ice for as long as they could, in the heat etc. etc.

They ended up doing better after the tough conditions. Really interesting stuff.
